Open-weight models handle work that does not require frontier capacity, cutting the bill before a dataset is assembled or a training project begins.

Within boundaries the customer sets, real task results improve routing and train private models on open weights around the company’s recurring work. As those models prove themselves, Riften moves more traffic off rented APIs and onto company-controlled weights. Frontier models remain where their added capability earns the cost.
